How to arrange flowers on a Kenzan

£80.00

Most of my arrangements are created on a traditional Japanese aid to flower arranging – the kenzan. Vastly more sustainable than flower foam, the kenzan allows you to create beautiful, sparse, airy arrangements, inspired by the Japanese art of Ikebana.

In this workshop you will be provided with a Japanese bowl, Niwaki kenzan and instruction on how to arrange seasonal flowers using this method. Advice on which flowers lend themselves to this type of arrangement and how to create drama within the arrangement are included along with a selection of flowers to arrange yourself during the workshop.

You will leave the course with the equipment and knowledge to continue creating beautiful, minimal arrangements in your home, through the seasons. We recommend our “Stems” which are available to collect every Friday to continue experimenting with your new skills. This workshop is held at the Stepney Bank Studio.

Duration 1.5 - 2 hours

Japanese ceramic bowl, Niwaki kenzan, flowers and refreshments included.
