Helping each other to grow
Following the events of late, last week we pledged to make a donation to charities fighting for equality and against racism. We have donated to two grassroots organizations in our community: The Angelou Centre & The Comfrey Project. Both organizations are facing new challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic so if you are able, please consider donating to their causes.
The Angelou Centre
The Angelou Centre is a black-led women’s centre based in Newcastle who support Black and Ethnic Minority women in the region. They provide support, refuge, advice, education and advocacy for black and minoritized women. We have provided links below to read more about their work and to donate.
The Comfrey Project - A Space to grow
The Comfrey Project provides refugees and people seeking asylum across Tyneside with a safe, welcoming environment, which promotes personal well-being through a sense of place and belonging. This is achieved by various shared creative crafts including allotment gardening, cooking and crafts. They seek to create a safe space where everyone is welcomed, respected and listened to. We have provided links below to read more about their work and to donate.
